چکیده
AbstractObjective Despite the continuing controversy of covered stents (CS) vs bare metal stents, use CS in mesenteric occlusive disease (MOD) has been recommended by expert centers. The aim this study was to report midterm results with superior artery. Methods Between January 2014 and October 2019, patients MOD a severe atheromatous stenosis or occlusion artery treated were included. Clinical presentation included both acute ischemia (AMI), chronic ischemia, asymptomatic planned for major surgery. Demographics, procedure details, follow-up data prospectively collected retrospectively reviewed. Study end points primary patency, assisted secondary patency. Results During period, 86 (mean age, 70 ± 9 years; 57% males) AMI (n = 42 [49%]), 31 [36%]), 13 [15%]). technical success rate 97%. A total 96 implanted, including proximal (Advanta V12, n 73; Lifestream, 13). mean length diameter 31.5 6.3 mm 6.9 0.5 mm, respectively. Additional distal used 10 (12%) overcome kinking 9) dissection 1) downstream CS. All postoperative deaths occurred 11, 13%). median 15.6 months (95% confidence interval [CI], 3.6 months), 12 (14%) underwent reinterventions either stent misplacement 3), recoil thrombosis 2), de novo at edge gastric 1). At 1 year, overall patency rates 83% CI, 9%), 99% 3%), 2 years, 76% 13%), 95% 8%) 8%), Conclusions Mesenteric provide very satisfactory MOD, an excellent price significant reintervention rate.

BACKGROUND An obstruction of the distal part of the duodenum can occur because of the superior mesenteric artery syndrome (SMAS) after a surgical correction of scoliosis. It is essential to evaluate the risk factors and diagnose the SMAS in time because complications of this condition are life-threatening and it is associated with a high rate of morbidity. Diagnostics of the SMAS is challenging...
